The Pelicans and Monty Williams hosted about 20 local Marines at their practice facility  to watch practice and even participate in some drills as part of NBA Cares Hoops For Troops Week.

After the team’s nearly two-hour practice, the Marines took the court, taking part in shooting drills alongside the players.

The troops also joined the players in the team’s cafeteria for a post-practice lunch. They also received four free tickets each for the game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Smoothie King Center, where they were  recognized, according to Julie Borsch, the team’s community investment manager.
