CHARLOTTE HORNETS HEAD COACH
Charles Lee is the Head Coach of the Charlotte Hornets. On May 9, 2024, Lee became the 12th Head Coach* in Hornets history.
Prior to joining the Hornets, Coach Lee was an Assistant Coach for the Boston Celtics under Coach Joe Mazzulla (2023-2024), where he helped the team win an NBA Championship, the organization’s first since 2008. Prior to joining the Celtics, he was an Assistant Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks under Head Coach Mike Budenholzer (2018-2023), where he helped the team reach four NBA Playoffs berths (2019, 2020, 2021, 2023), an NBA Conference Finals appearance (2019), and winning an NBA Championship (2021). Prior to joining the Bucks, Coach Lee was an Assistant Coach of the Atlanta Hawks under Head Coach Mike Budenholzer (2014-2018), where he helped the team to a 60-win NBA Season (2015), three consecutive NBA Playoffs berths (2015, 2016, 2017), and an NBA Conference Finals appearance (2015).
Charles Lee was born on November 11, 1984, in Washington, D.C. He attended and played at Bucknell University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business management. During Coach Lee’s time at Bucknell University he won the Patriot Player of the Year (2006). Coach Lee also had a professional playing career with stops in Israel, Belgium, and Germany.
