In 2024, Wayne Ellington became an Assistant Coach for the Miami Heat. He was born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and attended and played at the University of North Carolina. Coach Ellington was selected in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2009 NBA Draft and went on to also play for the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons, and New York Knicks.
