In 2023, Sam Cassell became an Assistant Coach for the Boston Celtics. Cassell was born in Baltimore, Maryland and played for Florida State University. He was selected 24^th overall in 1993 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets and had a 15-year NBA playing career, with stops in Houston, Phoenix, Dallas, New Jersey, Milwaukee Minnesota, Los Angeles (Clippers), and Boston. Coach Cassell and his wife, Tonya, have one child (Sam Jr.).
