In 2019, David Akinyooye became an Assistant Coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Coach Akinyooye was born in Elmont, New York and played for and graduated from Adelphi University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in communication. He had a one-year professional playing career in the NBA G League.
