NEW ORLEANS PELICANS HEAD COACH

Jamahl Mosley is the Head Coach of the New Orleans Pelicans. On May 18, 2026, Mosley became the 9th Head Coach* in Pelicans history.

Prior to joining the Pelicans, Coach Mosley was the Head Coach of the Orlando Magic (2021-2026), where he led the team to three consecutive NBA Playoff berths (2024, 2025, 2026). Prior to joining the Magic, he was an Assistant Coach for the Dallas Mavericks under Head Coach Rick Carlisle (2014-2021), where he helped the team reach four NBA Playoff berths (2015, 2016, 2020, 2021). Prior to joining the Mavericks, Coach Mosley was an Assistant Coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers under Head Coaches Byron Scott (2010-2013) and Mike Brown (2013-2014). Prior to joining the Mavericks, he was a Player Development/Advance Scout (2005-2007) and an Assistant Coach (2007-2010) with the Denver Nuggets under Head Coach George Karl, where he helped the team reach at least 50 wins for three consecutive seasons (2007-2010), and five NBA Playoff berths (2006 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), including an NBA Conference Finals appearance (2009).

Jamahl Mosley was born on October 6, 1978, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended and played at the University of Colorado, where he was selected to the Third-Team All-Big 12 (2000 & 2001). Coach Mosley also had a professional playing career with stops overseas in Australia, Spain, and Korea.
