In 2018, Jay Hernandez became an Assistant Coach for the Charlotte Hornets. Coach Hernandez was born in Long Island, New York and played for and graduated from Hofstra University, where he received a dual MBA in both marketing and management. He had a three-year professional playing career in Puerto Rico. Coach Hernandez and his wife, Allison, have three children (McKayla, Michael & Morgan).
