JJ Redick is the Head Coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. On June 24, 2024, Redick became the 29th Head Coach in Lakers history.

JJ Redick was born on June 24, 1984, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was raised in Roanoke, Virginia where he attended Cave Spring High School. After becoming a McDonald’s All American and Virginia Mr. Basketball, Redick went on to Duke University, where he had a storied college basketball career. On February 4, 2007, Redick’s no. 4 jersey was retired at Cameron Indoor Stadium at a special halftime ceremony. Redick became the 13th Duke player to have his jersey retired. Redick, after graduating from Duke in 2006, declared for the NBA Draft, and ultimately was drafted 11th overall, by the Orlando Magic. Redick had a 15-year NBA career, with stops in Orlando, Milwaukee, Los Angeles (Clippers), Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Dallas. Coach Redick and his wife, Chelsea, have two children (Kai & Knox).
