In 2023, Mery Andrade became an Assistant Coach for the Toronto Raptors. She was born in Cape Verde and attended and played at Old Dominion University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. Coach Andrade was selected in the second round by the Cleveland Rockers in 1999 WNBA Draft and went on to also play for the Charlotte Sting and also played professionally overseas in Italy and Portugal.
