Great work by the Associated Press in covering Miami Heat Assistant Coach, Caron Butler’s push to limit the use of solitary confinement and other forms of isolation in Connecticut prisons. Butler, a 14-year NBA veteran and NBA Champion, understands firsthand how important this legislation is in helping humanize those who are incarcerated, as he shares his experience as a youth in solitary confinement. Coach Butler credits his passion for prison reform to college coach, Jim Calhoun stating, “We were taught…that when you are passionate about something, you have to find a way to create a wave and make that wave bigger and create a current.” Keep up the great work Coach!
