In 2023, Ryan Schmidt became an Assistant Coach for the Atlanta Hawks. He was born in Keizer, Oregon and attended and played at the University of Hawaii and Oregon State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in public policy and administration. Coach Schmidt was selected by the Idaho Stampede in the 2008 NBA D League Draft and also played in the ABA.
