In 2023, Sam Cassell became an Assistant Coach for the Boston Celtics. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended and played at Florida State University. Coach Cassell was selected in the first round by the Houston Rockets in the 1993 NBA Draft and went on to also play for the Pheonix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, and Boston Celtics.
