TYRONN LUE
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS HEAD COACH
Tyronn Lue is the Head Coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. On October 20, 2020, Lue became the 26th Head Coach* in Clippers history.
Prior to becoming the Head Coach of the Clippers, he was an Assistant Coach for the team under Head Coach Doc Rivers (2019-2020), where he helped the team reach an NBA Playoff berth. Prior to joining the Clippers, he was the Head Coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016-2018), where he led the team to two consecutive NBA Finals appearances and an Associate Head Coach under Head Coach David Blatt (2014-2016), where he helped the team reach an NBA Finals appearance (2015), and win the team’s first NBA Championship in franchise history (2016). Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Coach Lue was an Assistant Coach for the Los Angeles Clippers under Head Coach Doc Rivers (2013-2014), where he helped the team reach an NBA Playoff berth. Prior to joining the Clippers, he was an Assistant Coach for the Boston Celtics (2011-2013) under Head Coach Doc Rivers, where he helped the team reach an NBA Playoff berth (2013) and an NBA Conference Finals appearance (2012).
Tyronn Lue was born on May 3, 1977, in Mexico, Missouri. He attended and played at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Coach Lue was selected in the first round by the Denver Nuggets in the 1998 NBA Draft and went on to play with the Hawks, Wizards, Magic, Lakers, Bucks, Rockets, and Mavericks.
