In 2023, Darnell Lazare became an Assistant Coach for the New Orleans Pelicans. Coach Lazare was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and played for and graduated from Louisiana State University. Lazare had an 8-year professional playing career with stops in the NBA G League (Maine, Fort Wayne, & Idaho) as well as overseas in Sweden, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
