Doug Christie is the Head Coach of the Sacramento Kings. On May 1, 2025, Christie became the 32nd Head Coach* in Kings’ history.
Prior to becoming the Head Coach of the Kings, Coach Christie served as an Assistant Coach under Head Coaches Mike Brown (2022-2024), Alvin Gentry (2021-2022), and Luke Walton (2021) where he helped lead the team to a 2023 playoff appearance.
Doug Christie was born on May 9, 1970, in Seattle, Washington. Christie attended Mark Morris High School in Longview, Washington and Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, Washington, and went on to play at Pepperdine University. He was drafted 17th overall in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics and had a 15-year NBA playing career, with stops in Los Angeles (Lakers), New York, Toronto, Sacramento, Orlando, Dallas, and Los Clippers (Clippers).
