In 2024, Luke Walton became an Assistant Coach for the Detroit Pistons. Coach Walton was born in San Diego, California and played for and graduated from the University of Arizona. Walton was drafted 32nd overall in the 1983 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers and had a 10-year NBA playing career with stops in Los Angeles and Cleveland. Coach Walton and is wife, Bre, have two children.
