In 2025, Darnell Lazare became an Assistant Coach for the Memphis Grizzlies. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and attended and played at the Louisiana State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in information systems and decision sciences. Coach Lazare went on to play for the Charlotte Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, NBA D League, also played professionally in Canada and overseas in Sweden, Ukraine, and Australia.
