MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES HEAD COACH

Chris Finch is the Head Coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. On February 22, 2021, Finch became the 16th Head Coach* in Timberwolves history.

Prior to joining the Timberwolves, Coach Finch was an Assistant Coach for the Toronto Raptors under Head Coach Nick Nurse (2020-2021). Prior to joining the Raptors, he was the Associate Head Coach for the New Orleans Pelicans under Head Coach Alvin Gentry (2017-2020), where he helped the team reach an NBA Playoff berth (2018). Prior to joining the Pelicans, he was the Associate Head Coach for the Denver Nuggets under Head Coach Michael Malone (2016-2017). Prior to joining the Nuggets, Coach Finch was an Assistant Coach for the Houston Rockets under Head Coaches Kevin McHale (2011-2015) and J.B. Bickerstaff (2015-2016), where he helped the team reach four NBA Playoff berths (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) and an NBA Conference Finals appearance (2015). Prior to joining the Rockets, he was the Head Coach of NBA D-League Houston Rockets’ affiliate, Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2009-2011), where he led the team to win an NBDL Championship (2010).

Chris Finch was born on November 6, 1969, in Cambridge, Ohio. He attended and played at Franklin & Marshall College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in government/religious studies. During Coach Finch’s time at Franklin & Marshall College, he was a two-time All-American basketball player and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame (2002). Coach Finch had a professional playing career overseas in England and coached in Germany and Belgium.
